These other guys have given a good gist of the issue, but IMO it's inaccurate. The problem lies with society and capitalism at the end of the day. Basically, credit processors are in it for the money, obviously. And they view porn as a risk to profits, because puritanical society means that statistically a lot of sex related purchases lead to charge backs when someone finds out and the purchaser denies having any knowledge of it. So as a result the credit processors don't allow their services to be used for sex stuff.
This is not to say that the credit processors AREN'T led by puritans with an agenda. Just that their profit motive probably has more to do with it.
I am still eagerly awaiting the last ep being out so I can watch it all. Then I'll have this moment later, I'm sure. :P
Not a lawyer, but if they don't provide the patch they're in the clear, aren't they?
It really sucks, but I get it. They've decided to err well on the side of caution regarding that "things we think are illegal" clause. If the wrong person claimed that flat chested adult were a minor and proved it in court it could be a real problem for valve. Hell, it'd be expensive just to defend in court, even if they won. I hate it, but I understand why they'd make that decision.
LetsEncrypt can hand out wildcard certs if you are able to add TXT records to your domain, if that helps any.
I realised this was a stupid comment that doesn't help any.
I use the ebuild on Gentoo, combined with some custom nginx config, and a dedicated php-fpm instance just for Nextcloud. Never tried using any of the Docker packages for it so I can't comment on those.
Updates involve merging the new package and running webapp-config to link the files into place, running occ upgrade, and refreshing ownership of the php files. Never had a serious problem with it.
I have been super hesitant to look into KeePassXC, should I give it a chance?
Of course, unless I can also access these features on my phone it doesn't really matter…
That's something, but isn't half the benefit meant to be storing them in the TPM? Also, that won't help if you're logging into a game or app, surely? Would love to be wrong on that, of course.
I already use KeePass, but as far as I know it doesn't do passkeys, only passwords?
Until someone can explain to me how I can transfer, manage and control my passkeys without syncing them to some hostile corporation's cloud infrastructure, passkeys will remain a super hard sell for me.
I can see the value of it but it's also kitchy and annoying :P
Why is every proposed US law I hear about some kind of acronym?
I like how in this article the greedy cunt is talking about consumers just getting used to the idea of not owning the game being okay because they'll keep their progress and can come back to their game any time. Like we haven't seen media disappear off streaming services all the time. Like nobody has ever fallen on hard times and had to cut ongoing costs. Fuck off.
Man, if only I had thought of being born rich…
That level of buy-in is not required. You can get a game package with a single starter pack for US$40. The one in the article includes every variant of every vehicle currently in the game or in development or announced as planned. IMO it's for people who just want to support development because it literally removes a bunch of reasons to even play.
It's hard to definitively say if greed has taken over or if they're just trying to fund development as legitimately as possible without a publisher. They have done some groundbreaking things (64 bit coordinate system, object container streaming, etc) and are working in more (replication layer, server meshing, etc). That is why it has been so long and expensive, why the game is still alpha.
I dunno what you guys are doing that makes your nextcloud die without touching it. Mine runs happily until I decide to update it, and that usually goes fine, too. I don't use docker for it, tho.
Old ones can be big, yeah.
